VASELLI | NEW COLLABORATION
We are Vaselli’s new press office!
Mediatike launches a new collaboration with Vaselli Marmi, a Tuscan company specializing in the processing of travertine and the creation of natural stone elements and projects for architecture and interior design.
Based in Rapolano Terme, at the heart of the Siena travertine district, the company is rooted in a long-standing artisanal tradition of true manufacturing excellence and is deeply connected to the culture of stone and to respect for the material.
At Vaselli, travertine — a material that is emblematic of the local area — lies at the centre of a production process that enhances the stone’s natural qualities through careful workmanship and fully bespoke creations: every piece is made exclusively to order.
Alongside its artisanal dimension, Vaselli Marmi stands out for its strong design-driven approach and its fruitful dialogue with the worlds of design and architecture. The company works with international designers and takes part in the development of high-profile architectural projects, contributing travertine solutions capable of combining formal research, technological innovation and manufacturing expertise.
From this perspective, travertine becomes the expression of an idea of authentic luxury based on exclusivity and tailor-made craftsmanship. Every creation is conceived as a unique piece, developed specifically for each project, where the quality of the material and artisanal precision give shape to solutions designed to last over time.

Being able to live in the heart of the Tuscan countryside is the dream of anyone wishing to relax while gazing out over rolling hills and cultivated fields. The old farmhouse that Mrs Bowen and her family decided to renovate stands on a hill near the small historic centre of Trequanda, benefiting both from the charm of the Val d’Orcia and from the hypnotic beauty of the Crete Senesi, perfectly fulfilling this desire.
The client’s intention was to carry out a renovation that respected the history of the estate, and for this reason she involved only local craftsmen and companies. This search for authenticity led to the choice of Rapolano travertines and Vaselli; both the interiors and exteriors therefore feature our stones in a variety of shades, finishes and applications.

The exterior
Outdoors, Rapolano travertines take centre stage, with the swimming pool clad in these bush-hammered and brushed stones, while Becagli travertine in falda finish finds its place in the OCO outdoor kitchen located beneath the nearby veranda.
The waterfall along the infinity edge of the pool overlooking the hills is clad in travertine finished with Vergata. This exclusive finish of ours is perfect for wet surfaces: its uneven surface gives added movement to the flowing water, creating striking plays of light. The pool has also been equipped with a temperature-controlled hydromassage area to enjoy the view in complete relaxation.
The OCO outdoor kitchen (Design: Emanuel Gargano, Marco Fagioli) completes the outdoor setting with an area dedicated to convivial moments.
The interior
Inside, travertine is the absolute protagonist and continues to guide us through floors and staircases, changing finish according to the different rooms.
In the bathrooms, Becagli and Bianco Rapolano appear in a range of shades and are used for cladding, shower trays and bathroom furniture, all created specifically for this project and not taken from our collections. Much of the furniture and the other bathroom elements in the house are not only custom-made but were conceived especially for this project and fall outside the standards of our collections.
Vergata is not limited to cladding alone. For example, in the solid-stone washbasin, the finish extends along the sides, integrating it perfectly with the rest of the bathroom, as though the monolith were a natural continuation of the grooved wall.
The influence of local culture and of the traditional use of travertine is evident in this project, as shown by the floor layout, which echoes unconventional cuts and proportions.
Diagonals and large slabs can be found in our historic centres, such as Trequanda, Serre and Rapolano, where stone was used in paving while minimising waste and following principles dictated by slower times and very different quarrying methods; people would “make do” with irregular floors. This is reflected in the farmhouse as a tribute to the squares of small Tuscan villages.
The different materials create variety among the spaces, giving each one its own identity, while the use of travertines from the same quarry basin connects them to one another, creating harmony throughout the home.
A project developed around an authentic relationship between architect, client and company
The personal relationship that Vaselli usually establishes with its clients made it possible to share with the Bowen family the strong bond with stone and the respect that comes with it, through a sincere and genuine dialogue. This connection with the client and the architect made it possible to develop the project directly with them, making the most of the cross-fertilisation between different cultures that is expressed in the splendid farmhouse on the hill. This fully represents Vaselli’s Spirito Pietra.
